Reiki, as described through the International Association of Reiki Professionals, is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy. 

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. 

Reiki is an energy healing. It is based on the belief that the use of the hands and finger tips, through physical touch on certain Chakra points, help for the body to naturally heal itself. The Reiki Master or Practitioner is able to channel the energy needed to help facilitate the process of healing stress and overall health.

Reiki is a way for us to rebalance and heal mentally, physically, and spiritually. Using the 7 Major Chakras, it ensures a steady flow of energy throughout our systems. Each Chakra is like a pinwheel. Stress, negative thoughts, and built up emotions act as "dirt" that pile up causing energy to be trapped or constricted. Reiki acts as a catalyst in channeling the energy where it needs to go to cleanse, realign, and remove any blocks.

Reiki is non-denominational and isn't attached to any religion. It is a gentle and relaxing experience. Some people will feel sensations of warmth on the areas in which the hands of the Reiki Master/Practitioner are placed. Some experience tingling, some may not feel anything at all. Each experience is different and unique as the individual receiving the service. One thing is for certain, Reiki is a way to assist in removing blocks within our energy system to help bodies fully heal.
